কল্পবিজ্ঞান এমন একটা বিষয় যার পরিপাটি সুন্দর একখানি সংজ্ঞা কিন্তু সেইভাবে হয় না। বাছা বাছা বিশেষজ্ঞরা একজোট হয়ে বসলেও এ ব্যাপারটা নিয়ে যে বিতর্ক বেঁধে যাবে, তাতে সন্দেহ নেই। বর্ণালী বিচ্ছুরণের মতো কল্পবিজ্ঞানে আছে অফুরন্ত রঙের অনন্ত সম্ভাবনা। ইনফিনিট পসিবিলিটিজ্। বিশেষ করে আজকের সময়ে দাঁড়িয়ে বিজ্ঞানের খুঁটিনাটি মোবাইলের জানলা গলে আমাদের হাতের আঙুলে, পড়ার টেবলে, বালিশের পাশে, মানে যাকে বলে একেবারে ব্যক্তিগত জায়গাতে এসে জুটেছে। তাকে আর ল্যাবরেটরির চৌহদ্দিতে বেঁধে রাখা যাচ্ছে না।
এই বইয়ের গল্পগুলো তাই সে অর্থে আগামী কালের রোজনামচা। তবে এসব ঘটনা যে এখনও ঘটেনি, কোনো মতেই ঘটতে পারে না, তা-ও খুব জোর দিয়ে বলতে পারি না। ধন্যবাদ প্রকাশককে আমার এই আগামীর অ্যালবাম পাঠকবন্ধুদের হাতে তুলে দেওয়ার সুযোগ করে দেওয়ার জন্য। চেষ্টা করেছি মোটামুটি চলনসই পাল্লার একটা দূরবীন তৈরি করার, যে দেখবে ত্রিমাত্রিক দুনিয়ার পরপারে। ফোর্থ ডায়মেনশন বরাবর। পাঠক দূরবীনে চোখ রেখে দেখুন, তাঁদের ছুঁয়ে যাক ওপারের দৃশ্যকল্প, এইটুকুই আন্তরিক কামনা!
